This is a quick summary of legislation and industry guidelines, which may be relevant to you; it is not legal advice and should not be relied on as such.

It should be noted that issues of data ‘ownership’ and data ‘sharing’ are not covered or controlled by the Data Protection Act so are a matter for contractual agreement between the arts organisations involved. See the Data Ownership and Data Sharing section in the Information Sheet, below.
