Podcast: Julianne McGraw – taking Scotland’s digs digital
Hannah Mason, Head of Social Entrepreneur Support, Creative United talks to Julianne McGraw, Communications Manger, Dig It! Scotland about taking Scotland's digs digital and how they adapted their campaign strategy, including the web pages marketing, budget and social media activity to support archaeology groups across the country during lockdown.
When community-led excavations, open days, volunteering opportunities and tours were put on hold across Scotland because of Covid-19, Dig It! Scotland had to quickly adapt their communications campaign. They re-positioned their campaign to Scotland Digs Digital to bring a cohesion to all their activities and to expand their work demystifying archaeology.
With things moving quickly, they took the opportunity to experiment with a range of approaches and built in time to analyse the results. Julianne stresses the importance of always going back to the 'why' of what you're doing and making sure every step of the process fits in with your objectives and your mission, vision and values.
Find out what worked and what didn't in this honest and open conversation.
