Online exhibitions with Google Cultural Institute

By: Steve Crossan, James Davis, Bill Thompson

A transcript of a discussion about the Google Cultural Institute, focusing on creating online exhibits and editorial around them. The panel also considers whether virtual exhibits deter visitors from attending museums in person.

If I see beautiful sandy beaches online from the travel industry it doesn’t make me not want to go there –it has the opposite effect - I now really want to go there. It’s the same for me with cultural institutions. There’s also the idea that they may not have found that gallery if it wasn’t online.
