SUMMARY

Throughout the first weeks of August, 2024 the UK saw unacceptable and shocking scenes of violence across the UK.  Audiences, organisations, individuals and our wider communities have been affected both directly and indirectly by racist and Islamophobic acts. This is a collection of resources to help marketers across the UK, in the short and longer term, with external communications and internal support.

Wellbeing and Mental Health resources:

Here are some resources and suggestions for seeking mental health support to look after yourself as best you can:

  • If you need to travel, a resource like WalkSafe might help to flag if there are disruptions to your route caused by riots or other actions, to help keep you safe on your commute.
  • If you work for an organisation, check to see if they have an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). These usually include counselling sessions to support staff members.
