Ruth has worked extensively in arts marketing and communications, predominantly in theatre as well as other cultural organisations including museums, festivals and libraries. She joined Hull Truck Theatre in 2015 as Director of Communications and key projects have included launching a new website, extensive analysis of audience data to inform a new accessible pricing strategy and strategic planning for Hull UK City of Culture 2017.
Before that, she was Head of Communications at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, where she established a fundraising strategy and secured funding to create a development department. Ruth was the Marketing Manager at The Spa Bridlington during its £21 million redevelopment and subsequent high profile launch. Other career highlights include delivering the marketing for the first Yorkshire-wide, cross-artform Illuminate Festival and working with East Riding Libraries. She began her career with the unfunded, adventurous, site specific Creation Theatre Company in Oxford.
Ruth recently completed a Masters Degree in Creative Writing at the University of Hull.
