Rachel Escott
Rachel is an experienced communications professional with over 25 years’ experience of marketing and audience development for visual, performing and participatory arts and education, museums and galleries. This allows her to transfer insights and learning from one arts sector to others, and to take into account the spectrum of a potential visitor’s behaviours and relationships, rather than considering just the relationship from a single organisation perspective. Rachel’s practice resides in foregrounding and championing the visitor/ audience perspective within an organisation’s decision-making, drawing on insights from qualitative and quantitative research and wide social awareness. Rachel has held communications and strategy roles at Tate, Wellcome Collection, City of London Sinfonia, Audiences London and the Philharmonia Orchestra, and has worked as an independent consultant since 2005. Through her company, she has equal experience of working with small clients and charities as with large, funded organisations.
