Museums Association
The Museums Association is the membership organisation for everyone working in museums, galleries and heritage. Set up in 1889, we are the oldest museums association in the world.
Today we have over 6,000 individual members, 250 corporate members and 600 institutional members. These institutional members encompass around 1,500 museums, ranging from the largest government-funded national museums to small volunteer-run charitable trust museums.
We advocate for museums, set ethical standards, run training and professional development, publish Museums Journal – the sector’s leading magazine, and we run the largest conference for museum and heritage professionals in Europe
