Mark Bains, The Wordsworth Trust
Mark Bains began his career by taking up a trainee position at the Wordsworth Trust in 1994.
Mark went on to arts fundraising positions in Keswick and Liverpool, before returning to the Wordsworth Trust to help set up its development office in 2001.
Since then, as the Wordsworth Trust’s Development Manager, Mark has worked on numerous capital, revenue and other fundraising projects including the Tier 1 Catalyst programme in 2012–15. He is currently busy with a new £6.2m campaign, ‘Reimagining Wordsworth’, which received a Heritage Lottery Fund first-round pass in 2016.
In 1994, the Wordsworth Trust’s training programme was already well established. It still thrives, and is now funded by Arts Council England.
