Celia Gilbert

Celia Gilbert | Site & Events Manager | The Rose Playhouse
Celia Gilbert joined The Rose Playhouse in July 2019 initially for a few months to co-ordinate some of the work The Rose was doing in connection with the Rose Revealed project, imminent refurbishments and other performance events and site visits, happening on site. Due to the refurbishment and the outbreak of Covid when the site closed, she has built up the online programme of events.

Celia spent 15 years at Shakespeare’s Globe, initially as part of the great volunteer team of Stewards, then as a Duty Manager which led to the role of Front of House Manager there. Previously to that, she worked in TV and in particular for the London franchise of ITV – Carlton TV, where she worked for the Director of Drama and assisted him in their production and development department. Celia was also an actor and occasionally still dabbles within theatre today! Celia has a strong background in customer service and administration and a great love of theatre and its history, especially Elizabethan and Shakespeare!
